Jay Bellows

Jay BellowsJay is an executive with over 20 years of leadership experience in the professional world, with a full spectrum of technology knowledge and leadership expertise in areas of power, systems integration, telecom, data centers, software, networking and project management. Jay has helped sustain and build several company’s bottom line with proper direction and an ability to identify and instill necessary change. He has a very strong history of supplying proper direction to developing companies while helping them grow to realize their potential. Prior to joining Northern Reliability as their CEO, Jay was the Vice President of Sales and Director of Northern Facilities for Sovernet Communications, a Vermont based competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), where he grew monthly revenues by up to ten times their average amount. He oversaw business development, projects, offerings and revenue growth over the companies entire footprint. He is currently a Director on the UVMMC Data Center Executive Board, and is very active in the New England technology community. Jay is a strong believer in sports and their ability to guide today’s youth in a positive direction. He currently coaches Basketball, Football, Baseball and Soccer; as well as donating time to sports clinics in the area. Jay and his wife Tiffini, sons Tobey and Braedon, live in Waterbury Vermont where they enjoy the outdoors and all the activities that Vermont has to offer.

Myron Sopher

Myron SopherEntering as Chairperson to Northern Reliability in 2014, Myron aims to build the company’s future in energy storage, remote energy and energy software solutions. Myron is currently a managing partner at InTrack Investment Management, Inc. which he founded in 1992. The South Burlington Vermont firm manages complex family, estate and nonprofit investment portfolios. His previous business experiences were with Burlington Industries, Inc., New York City, NY., American Hospital Supply Corporation, Evanston, IL.; Herman Miller, Inc., Zeeland, MI.; and Computer Aided Planning, Grand Rapids MI. In these firms he managed large scale sales organizations, product positioning, national accounts and financial projections. In the past, he has contributed his time and energy to the Burlington YMCA, Howard Center for Human Services, the Conservation and Research Foundation and the New England Federal Credit Union. He is currently Chairperson for the Vermont Council on Economic Education, member of the Board of Directors of the CFA Society for Vermont and the UVM Alumni Board of Directors. As a current member of North Country Angels group he actively participates and has invested in Vermont start-ups. He and his wife Lenore live in Charlotte, VT where they enjoy skiing at Stowe, boating at LCYC and their many friends.

Howard Schapiro

Howard SchapiroHoward earned his MD from UVM in 1980, and completed both his surgical and anesthesiology residencies at the Medical Center Hospital of Vermont (now known as UVM Medical Center). Howard also completed a fellowship in obstetrical anesthesia at Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center in NYC. Howard was promoted to associate professor in 1995, and in 1997 assumed leadership of the Anesthesiology Department at Fletcher Allen. In February of 2013 Howard stepped down as Chair of the Anesthesiology Department and was appointed to be the Interim President for the University of Vermont Medical Group and Senior Associate Dean of Clinical Affairs at the UVM College of Medicine. Following a successful recruitment of a permanent President, Howard was offered the position of SVP and Chief Clinical Integration Officer of the University of Vermont Health Network. In this position, he helps oversee the integration of physician groups and provider organizations into the Network. Throughout his tenure, Schapiro has been actively involved in the UVM Medical Group and Medical Center. He served as Chair of the Finance Committee and is currently the treasurer of the University of Vermont Medical Center Medical Staff. Dr. Schapiro also serves as treasurer of the Vermont Medical Society; he has been active in numerous national professional societies, including the American society of Anesthesiology and the International Anesthesia research Society. Howard also serves on the board of a small trust company located in Dallas Texas.

Michael Babcock

Michael BabcockMichael graduated from Tulsa University where he is a rabid fan and Booster. Michael has held many senior level positions in his professional career, as well as board seats. While with Federated Department Stores, he served as Chairman and CEO of Filene’s and Filene’s Basement. While with May Department Stores, he served as Chairman of G. Fox company. He served as President of Hooker Corporation retail group, overseeing Bonwit Teller, B. Altman, Sakowitz, and the Parisian. Michael lived in Madrid Spain, serving as CEO of Galerias Praciodos, the second largest department store chain in Spain. Michael also served as President of the Leslie Fay Corporation, a NYSE wholesale and retail company. Michael served on the board of HRDQ, a national tra company. He joined the board of Liberty Mutual insurance in 1985 and served until retirement from the board in 2014, the longest serving board member in Liberty’s history. In addition to his undergraduate degree, Michael attended Harvard University’s Managing Organizational Effectiveness program. Michael is a highly respected executive and has been touted as the “whose- who” in the business world. He brings a vast knowledge of business, as well as the ability to work and advise on an international level. Michael’s connections and experience will be essential in NRI’s growth. Michael splits his time between Vero Beach, Fl and Stowe Vt where he lives with his wife. He has four children, with two residing in NYC, one in Boston and one in Minneapolis.

Phil Healy

Phil HealyPhilip Healy has broad business experience across several industries, and always succeeded at driving revenue and building businesses. After graduating Babson College in Massachusetts with a double major in Entrepreneurship and Marketing, Philip worked in e-commerce and digital marketing, helping to develop and grow www.redsox.com. Philip soon found himself as the Executive Director of a large Trade Association serving the automotive, roads and fuel industries. He also took the Association on as a client where under his direction, the Association grew significantly, and increased its cash reserves. Furthermore, Philip started a very successful self-insured Workers Compensation Program, paying back millions of dollars in dividends to its members since inception in 1995, and focusing on a strong safety culture. Currently, Philip not only owns a growing employee benefits practice, but he is also an investor and advisor to more than 10 companies. In his free time, Philip seeks out cold weather as skiing is one of his greatest passions, and he travels extensively with his family looking for the next great run.
